Rice Kheer is a type of rice pudding, an Indian Dessert which is very popular in all over the country from small villages to big cities. Rice Kheer is the most favorite dish of every Indian although he or she belongs to any culture or religion. Sanskrit name of kheer is sheer & payasam. Kheer is mostly prepared for festivals, rituals, and celebrations. It is also a devotional offering made to God. Rice Kheer Recipe is prepared with milk, rice, ghee, sugar, and khoya. You can also add some heavy cream for a richer flavor. It is often filled with almonds, cashews, raisins, and pistachios. There is a popular version of kheer in northern India, prepared during festivals and Havan in Varanasi using only milk, rice, ghee, sugar, cardamom, nuts and saffron kesar. It is an essential dish in many Hindu feasts and celebrations. While the dish is often made with rice, it can also be made with other ingredients such as vermicelli, seviyaan etc.
Main Ingredients of Rice Kheer Recipe
Ingredients for 4 servings
1.1/2 cooked rice
2 cup full cream milk
1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
4 tablespoon sugar or to taste
1 and 2 tablespoon desi ghee
1/2 tablespoon chopped cashew nuts
1/2 tablespoon chopped almonds
How To Make Rice Kheer?
1.Take a non-stick pan put 1 tablespoon desi ghee after heating roast cashew nuts and almonds until it gets light brown color. Then take out cashew nuts and almonds on a plate.
2. Roast the rice in a pan over a medium flame.
3.Add milk, condensed milk, sugar in the same pan.
4.Cook the mixture for 12-15 minutes on low flame and stir continuously until milk is absorbed and becomes medium thick because when it cools it becomes thicker.
5.For make kheer tastier, you can also add 2-3 cardamoms(optional)
6. Transfer the prepared kheer to a serving dish and save with cashew nuts and toasted almonds. Serve warm or put in a refrigerator for 1-2 hours before serving and serving in cold water. Easy and Instant rice kheer with condensed milk is ready.
